Edward II had some very interesting descendants, not all of whom were known for having royal connections! Here are some examples:

General Thomas Gage (d. 1787), Commander of British Forces in North America at the outbreak of the war of independence, was Edward II's great x 14 grandson through Edward III, Lionel, Duke of Clarence, the Percys, the Cliffords and the Darcys.

Former US President Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) was Edward II's great x 13 grandson through Edward III, John of Gaunt, the Nevilles and the Tanfields.

Novelist Jane Austen (1775-1817) was Edward II's great x 14 granddaughter, through Edward III, John of Gaunt, the Greys, and the Brydges.

Josephine Tascher de la Pagerie (1763-1814), Napoleon's first wife and great love, was Edward II's great x 14 granddaughter, through Edward III, John of Gaunt, the Nevilles and the Brownes.

Former US President Richard Nixon (1913-1994) was Edward II's great x 19 grandson, through Edward III, John of Gaunt, the Beauforts, the Carys and the Knollys.

Former US President Herbert Hoover (1874-1964) was Edward II's great x 19 grandson through Edward III, John of Gaunt, the Greys and the Dudleys.

A couple of presidents included, just please don't tell me G dubya Bush is related.

Um....I think he does descend from at least one of the Edward Kings....must check

GW Bush is definitely desxcended from Edward I (and Robert II of Scotland, among others).
