| Hello, I must confess I came across this forum some time ago and intended signing up, but real life intervened so I've just got around to it. The reason for the delay was that I was completing a screenplay about the life of Roger Mortimer, but now that it's finished and has been sent out into the world, I have some time to myself. I was given a copy of Ian Mortimer's biography of Lord M, and intended using it for background detail for a novel I planned on writing. But well, what can I say? Mortimer absolutely refused to stay in the background - demanded centre stage in fact. He wanted to put his side of the story. I've tried to be fair and let Edward and Isabella have their say too! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the posts in this forum. |

| Welcome! Wow, we're going to see a film about Roger's life? Fascinating! I'm one of the (sadly) very few of his fans, so I can't wait! Sir Ian Mortimer's bio of Roger is great and is finally doing him some justice... And it would be absolutely fantastic to read a novel written from Roger's point of view for a change!

| Hi Inwardeye, and a warm welcome to the forum! Delighted to hear that you're writing about RM. I really look forward to hearing more about it, and wish you lots of luck with it! Agree with Elflady - the thought of seeing a film about his life is mouth-watering, to say the least! _________________ "Sans lui n'estoit rien fait, et par lui estoit tous fait, et le creoit li rois plus que tout le monde." | Hello, all!
I'm new to this site, having re-kindled my love and interest in Edward II after reading The Traitor's Wife by Susan Higginbotham.
I appreciate the insight into this interesting Plantagenet, and the turbulent time during his reign.
I'm looking forward to checking in with this site!
